How does the portal match requirements to suppliers?

BenchOn believes that matching a tender or talent request to a supplier should be very specific. This helps with information security as well as saves suppliers time in finding when and where you need them. Portal owners will provide a list of capabilities that you will be tendering for within the portal. Suppliers then select from this list when setting up their profile. This gives you insight into the depth of the supply chain and ensures accurate matching. The platform has a powerful AI algorithm that matches based on skill set, experience, capability, location, price and more so you can find exactly what you need to meet your project requirements.

What industries does the platform support?

BenchOn supports any industry that you need as we are industry agnostic. If you are from an industry that BenchOn has not supported before, we will add in any industry specific skill sets or capabilities for you, and we will onboard all your current suppliers into the new portal for free. This way, you have a good foundation for your current requirements while you attract new suppliers to your portal.

How is this different to current services like ICN Gateway?

BenchOn is an AI driven Industry matching system whereas current systems tend to be database search systems. This is the only portal that allows you to match your requirement for talent AND tenders allowing you to manage all requests in the one system while ensuring competitors are not accessing the information. There is no need to set up project pages for suppliers to register on. All suppliers in your company portal will match to requirements from all your projects if they suit the task. Don’t settle for expensive, manual, and slow industry services, use BenchOn as your professional ‘shop front’ to intelligently engage industry.

How do we control who has access to our portal?

Your Industry Portal can be made either invite only or open to all. If you select ‘invite only’, suppliers must fill out a form to request access. However, we recommend keeping the portal open to encourage as many suppliers as possible to register in your portal. You can then use BenchOn Supplier Panels and supplier categorisation to ensure you are allocating work to the supplier groups you want. This way you get the benefit of the Intelligence insights into the talent and capabilities within your portal, and onboard those companies that have what you need.

Does the portal support recruitment?

We have a mandated tendering system for our government to release tenders. Why do we need this?

These portals are designed for you to analyse and connect your industries together. While the government can use this portal for tendering and talent if the mandate changes, it is ideally suited to link your awarded major contractors into the local industry to maximise local participation in your programs. You then get the benefit of the data analysis and industry insights from the whole project supply chain.

How do major contractors and their sub-contractors access and release work in the portal?

BenchOn provides sub-accounts to each major contractor so they can manage their own tenders and talent requests and link them into the entire portal supply chain. Sub-accounts users cannot sign into any other sub-account or see the portal owners data providing security across all projects. Each sub-account has their own business intelligence dashboard so they can analyse the supply chain, as well as see their own activity insights to support reporting. There are commercial data protections in place to ensure that portal owners can see trends in the activity without having access to sensitive commercial information.

What type of data insights can we access?

The business intelligence dashboards can be changed to suit your reporting requirements. You can get reports on things such as ‘the number of tenders allocated to indigenous businesses by project’, or ‘the total value of contracts awarded to remote small businesses by quarter’ or ‘the number of companies that have a certain skill set by region’ or even ‘what is the local coverage of this service by major city’. We will work with you to make sure that the reports give you what you need, live.

Is this limited to a portal for a department?

No. BenchOn is designed to link multiple portals into one, unified industry eco-system. For example, the government can have one governmental portal that captures all suppliers in that region. Within that portal, each department can have their own branded portal but all linked into the main government portal’s supply chain. This creates a unified, digital industry eco-system that brings the entire supply chain together but decentralises the government engagement with it. The primary portal will then get the benefit of all data insights collected from all portals. This is the future of government/industry interaction.

Who can use the platform?

Any registered business. It is important to remember that BenchOn is a B2B platform, so it does not support job seekers, freelancers or the general public. You will need an ABN, business name, website and pass our company vetting process.

Can I use this platform to release my tenders?

How is this different to current services like ICN Gateway?

BenchOn is an AI driven Industry matching system whereas current systems tend to be database search systems. This is the only portal that matches your business to both tenders and talent-based contract opportunities in the one platform. You no longer need to find a project page and register for it. If you belong to an Industry portal then every requirement from that organisation, regardless of the project, will match to you if you can fulfil the requirement. We also don’t believe in ‘pay to be seen’ subscriptions. If you are a business that can do the task, then you will be matched and have just as much chance as everyone else.

How much does this cost?

Responding to either tenders or talent-based opportunities in an industry portal is free. We do not believe you should have to pay to win work with these organisations. In the National Network, and for some community-based portals, there may be a service fee applied if you are successful in securing a talent-based contract, but this will be shown to you when you are submitting a candidate for the role. This way, you will be very aware of any cost before it is applied and this is only paid to BenchOn after you have been paid for the work.

How do I ensure that no competitor can see my request information?

How much does this cost?

Releasing support requests (called ‘Assignments’ on the platform) is free. Suppliers who respond to the support requests may have a service fee applied on top of the rate they propose of up to 10%. This will be show to you at the time of submitting a candidate so you can make the best decision at the time. You only need to pay BenchOn the service fee after you have been paid for the work so there are no out of pocket expenses.
